The Author of the Bible
2 Timothy 3:16-17
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”
The Bible, God’s Word, Scripture….all names that are given to the book that we base our entire lives upon. You may ask at times, “why is this book so important?” It is of such importance because of WHO spoke the words in it! Our passage begins with the statement, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God…” This lets us know, immediately that, although men wrote these words down, it was God who gave them the words to write.
2 Peter 1:21 “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” So, why is this book so important? Because this book is God’s design to reveal Himself to man. Today, if you want to know God and His purpose, you will only discover the answer through His written Word.
